Iron Mountain, MI – A tanker-truck driver was injured in a single-vehicle accident in Iron Mountain on Tuesday, October 6th, 2015. The accident happened just after 8:00 am.
From what we can tell, the tanker-truck was traveling eastbound on County Road 424 near Seasonal Road in Stambaugh Township when, for reasons unknown, the driver lost control of the vehicle, traveled into the ditch and up an embankment. The truck then began to roll, making contact with an unoccupied parked car in the ditch. The overturned truck came a rest in the middle of the roadway, and the driver was able to exit the vehicle.
The driver was later transported to Aspirus Hospital. His condition is not known.
There were no other occupants reported to be in the truck at the time of the accident.
Authorities are looking into this accident. There’s been no mention of excessive speed or road conditions in relation to this accident.
