La Plata, MD – A 16-year-old boy and 3 students were injured Wednesday afternoon, in a 4-vehicle accident on Hawthorne Rd., in La Plata, MD.
It looks like the 16-year-old was driving a Dodge Dakota down Hawthorne Blvd. when he lost control of his vehicle, crossed the center line and struck a Ford pick-up and a Jeep. The driver of the Dodge was seriously injured and taken by helicopter to a nearby hospital.
Meanwhile, the accident wasn’t quite finished as a school bus struck the now disabled Jeep. 3 students on the bus suffered undisclosed injuries and were taken to Charles Regional Medical Center. There is no update on their condition. The drivers of the Jeep, pick-up, and school bus, respectively, were apparently uninjured.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing and, as the crash involves minors, their names are not likely to be released.
