Festus, MO – Around 3:20 p.m. Monday, Max Meredith was seriously injured in an accident involving a motorcycle and a car on U.S. 67 in Festus, MO.
According to local authorities, Mr. Meredith, 43 was driving his 2015 Harley Davidson along U.S. when he was struck from behind by a 2012 Chevy Malibu, trying to enter the highway from a driveway. In the resulting crash, Mr. Meredith was seriously injured and transported by helicopter to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis. The last update, as of Wednesday, has Mr. Meredith listed in critical condition. There is a report that while Mr. Meredith was wearing a helmet, it was not approved by the Department of Transportation.
The driver of the Chevy, Kenneth Novak, 77, was apparently uninjured.
There is no information at that time about any possible citations or charges stemming from the accident. It’s safe to assume the investigation is ongoing.
