Laramie, WY – Steven Stam was taken to the hospital following a single-engine plane crash east or Laramie on Friday, September 11th, 2015. The accident happened just before 8:00 am.
67-year-old Stam crashed his plane on Interstate 80 east of Laramie, according to the police. The plane went down in an area commonly known as Telephone Canyon. The plane landed in the west-bound lanes and skidded to a stop on the north side of the highway. The aircraft was intact with damage to its nose and wing.
Stam was taken to Ivinson Memorial Hospital in Laramie for treatment in his injuries. His condition is not known.
Highway Patrol troopers were on scene Friday morning investigating the crash. They also secured the scene for the Federal Aviation Administration. At this time, there’s been no mention of medical emergency or mechanical malfunction in connection with this accident.
