San Diego, CA – An unidentified bicyclist, aged 38, was critically injured after being struck by a car Tuesday evening in San Diego, CA
The accident happened on Pershing Dr., near Balboa Park, at about a quarter to 10. The bicyclist reportedly made a left turn onto Redwood St and was hit by a woman driving a Fiat on Pershing. It looks like both the driver and the bicyclist tried to avoid colliding, but sadly the swerved in the same direction.
The bicyclist, who apparently was not wearing a helmet, suffered massive life-threatening head injuries. He was rushed to a nearby hospital and their is no update on his current condition. The driver of the Fiat was apparently uninjured.
One other fact of interest is that the bicyclist was apparently riding a racing bike, which was not equipped with brakes.
