Carneys Point Township, NJ – Three people were injured in a two car accident on Rt. 48 and S. Golfwood Ave. shortly after noon Tuesday, in Carneys Point Twp., NJ.
It looks like an unidentified man, driving a GMC 4-door, ran a red light at the intersection in question and hit a white Dodge van. During the accident, the male driver of the GMC was ejected from the vehicle and sustained serious injuries. He was airlifted to Cooper University Medical Center in Camden. The last update had the man’s condition as critical.
The man’s female passenger was also badly injured and flown to Crozer-Chester Medical Center, where she is also listed in critical condition.
The driver of the Dodge van was also injured, but refused medical attention and said that she would get to a nearby hospital on her own.
Officials do not know what factors were involved in the man running the red-light. At this point nothing has been ruled out and the investigation is ongoing.
