Lawton, IA — At about 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning of this week (September 1, 2015), there was a car accident on Highway 20 that ultimately resulted in two more wrecks happening. Police said that a total of six vehicles were involved in the accidents, including a semi-truck.
In total, though, only two people had to be taken to a hospital for their injuries.
According to the reports, this happened near 162nd Street, near Lawton. A car and a flatbed truck collided with each other in the bound lanes. It appears that the flatbed truck was rear-ended by the car.
After that accident, two SUVs crashed into each other as they tried to avoid the wreckage. Then, a semi-truck was hit by a car as they tried to avoid the first two accidents.
Though none of the injuries involved were life-threatening, two were taken to a hospital in Sioux City to be treated.
More information may be released later. No names were given in the initial reports.
