Mackinaw, IL — There were reports of critical injuries this past Thursday morning (August 27, 2015) after a driver crashed head-on into a semi-truck outside of Mackinaw. The driver of the car, an unnamed man, was left with critical injuries while the trucker himself was only slightly harmed.
The accident took place around 11:00 a.m. that Thursday morning, a few miles west of Mackinaw.
It appears that a semi-truck was headed west along Route 9 while a car was being driven east by a man.
Near the intersection with Weishaupt Road, it appears that one or both of the drivers crossed into oncoming traffic and caused a head-on wreck. The accident left the man in the car with critical injuries and he was rushed to a hospital, but the trucker was treated at the scene for very minor injuries.
At this time, it’s not really clear what happened, though the trucker involved told police it was the car’s driver who lost control that morning.
