Shelbyville, TN – Officer Jerry Lawrence is hospitalized following a collision with a suspected drunk driver in Shelbyville on Sunday, August 30th, 2015. The incident happened around 3:45 am.
Officer Jerry Lawrence was on his way to a suspected drunken driver call when the accident happened. Lawrence was making a turn from Highway 231 onto the bypass he was allegedly struck head-on by a driver of a Mustang that crossed the center line.
Lawrence was taken to St. Thomas Rutherford in Murfreesboro for treatment of his injuries.
The suspect and their passenger were transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with serious injuries. Their condition is not known.
There is no word on the driver’s charges
