Mauriceville, TX — A man in a Chevy van was injured and taken to a hospital after an accident last Friday afternoon (August 28, 2015) that involved a semi-truck, a Chevy pickup truck, and the man’s Chevy van. He was identified as Sylvester Hill, 50, and the accident happened at about 1:30 p.m. in the afternoon.
Hill was reportedly driving his van east along Highway 12 that afternoon when he crashed into the back of 57-year old Michael Lopez’ flatbed semi-truck.
After Hill’s van hit the semi-truck, some debris from the wreckage hit a Chevy pickup truck. While Hill was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, neither the semi-truck driver (Michael Lopez) nor the pickup truck driver (Joseph Guidry) were harmed.
However, the accident stopped traffic for some time while authorities tried to get the area clear. At the last update, Hill wasn’t in life-threatening condition, but was being treated for cuts, bruises, and multiple broken bones.
