Deerfield, Illinois – The drivers of an accident in Deerfield were injured on Wednesday, August 12th, 2015. The accident happened around 5:30 am.
A tractor-trailer truck hauling barley was allegedly struck by a passenger vehicle in the southbound lanes of Interstate 94. The driver of the 18-wheeler swerved to the left to attempt to avoid the collision but ultimately overturned onto a third vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle and the tractor-trailer truck driver were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.
There were no other injuries reported.
Investigation is ongoing. We’re not sure if it was distracted driving that played a part in this accident or some other factor.
