Birmingham, AL – A man was seriously injured in Birmingham, Alabama single-vehicle accident on Friday, August 21st, 2015. The accident happened around 5:15 am.
An unidentified man was traveling west along Graymont Avenue just before the accident occurred. The vehicle was moving at a high rate of speed before it veered off the roadway, hit a utility pole and caught fire.
The driver had to be extricated from the vehicle before being taken to UAB Hospital in serious condition.
There were no other occupants reported in the vehicle at the time of the incident.
There’s no word yet on what contributed to the accident. It’s possible that a medical emergency, intoxication, or distracted driving could be potential factors in the accident.
