Nashville, TN — Two people were injured when a boat exploded at the Blue Turtle Bay Marina in Nashville, Tennessee, on Friday, August 14, 2015.
Very little is known about the accident. Reports say that a cabin cruiser exploded not long after filling up with fuel. Two people were on board the craft at the time. Both were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Both victims are expected to survive, but the extent of their injuries is unknown.
The accident is still being investigated.

Of course, anytime you see an accident like this, where so many things could have gone wrong, the investigation is going to be incredibly important. It’s true that boat operators can make mistakes that cause things like this to happen, but it’s also possible that some vital piece of equipment had malfunctioned, and that caused the accident. If that turns out to be the case, then liability could possibly fall on the manufacturer. Until the investigation is carried out, we just don’t know.
