Woodstock, IL – Roberto Rivas and Elijah Drake are in critical condition in Woodstock, Illinois after a two-car collision on Saturday, August 15th, 2015. The accident happened just before 2:45 pm.
It appears that 18-year-old Elijah Drake was driving a 2006 Volkswagen Passat eastbound at the 17200 block of Kishwaukee Valley Road when the accident occurred. As best as we can tell, Drake veered into the westbound lane of traffic before striking a 2011 Toyota Scion. The crash caused the Volkswagen to roll over landing in a ditch. The Toyota, driven by 59-year-old Roberto Rivas, spun clockwise and stopped in the westbound lane of traffic.
Both drivers were taken to Centegra Hospital-Woodstock for treatment. they remain in critical condition.
There were no other occupants in either vehicle.
Investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is ongoing.
