Lubbock, TX — The police in Lubbock have arrested a man named Gregory Moore, 56 years old, after he allegedly hurt a child in a hit-and-run accident about 2 weeks ago. They claimed that Moore’s vehicle accidentally crashed into a boy riding a bicycle along Walnut Street on August 5, 2015.
Allegedly, Moore acknowledged the accident, got out of his car, but then took off and didn’t return. He was later tracked down by the police and the child’s mother, who pressed charges.
Moore was arrested this past Thursday for hit-and-run involving injury. The mother of the child whom Moore hit claimed that he had to go to the hospital for injuries to his arm.
This is still being investigated.

It sounds like this driver probably should have stayed at the scene to help the child or at least make sure he was okay before speeding away. I’ve handled lots of hit-and-run accident cases before and it seems that the best bet is always staying at the scene, even if you’re sure you’re not at fault. The police still need to file a report in many cases, and it doesn’t help if one party is missing when they get there.
