Hill has allegedly told police that he drank several beers before getting behind the wheel of his vehicle. Where did those beers come from? The answer to that question is important because Texas law forbids bars and similar outlets to sell or serve liquor to those who are obviously intoxicated. This is a law that gets ignored quite often. And when it is, the bar can be held liable if the person they over-served goes out and gets into an accident. Unfortunately, too many bars out there feel that their responsibility to their customers goes no further than the front door. That’s not the case, and when they forget it, they need to be held accountable for it.
