Newport News, VA — A woman was sent to the hospital after being injured in a single-vehicle accident in Newport News, Virginia, on Monday, August 10, 2015. The accident took place around 5:00 in the afternoon, at the intersection of Madison Avenue and 39th Street.
Local sources say that a vehicle was spotted driving west on 39th Street. It swerved as it neared an overpass and crashed into one of the support pillars.
A woman driving the vehicle broke one of her legs in the accident. A young child was sitting in a car seat in the back seat of the vehicle. The child wasn’t hurt.
What caused the accident is unknown. Police are currently investigating.
