Elmira, MI — Four people were hospitalized following an accident involving a passenger car and a propane truck in Elmira, Michigan, on Thursday, August 6, 2015. The accident took place near the intersection of Alba and Van Tyle roads, around 1:30 in the afternoon.
Right now, it’s not clear exactly how the accident happened. Pictures from the scene show a car that’s sustained very severe damage, and a propane truck which is lying on its side.
Emergency workers took the driver of the car to Munson Medical Center by medical helicopter. He had suffered serious injuries. The driver of the truck and two passengers inside the car — one of those an infant — were taken to Otsego Memorial Hospital. Their conditions are unknown.
The accident is currently being investigated by local law enforcement.

Commentary
In any accident involving a commercial vehicle, especially one in which the details of the accident are a little sketchy, it’s going to be a good to have an investigation into the crash launched as son as possible. Police investigations tend to be very short, and to be frank, they can miss things. When a commercial trucking company is involved, they’ll often have their own people looking into the crash. Why let these people dictate how you’re treated following the accident? Remember, in the end, evidence is king. It’s important that that evidence is collected as soon as possible following an accident.
