New Bedford, MA — Three workers were all taken to a hospital with serious injuries last month in New Bedford after a porch collapsed at the home they were working on. This happened on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 and at a home on Phillips Avenue, the police said.
The news also covered the accident, saying that there were at least three workers at 234 Phillips Avenue that morning around 11:00 a.m. and they were working on the third-floor porch when something happened and the support gave way.
The entire porch then collapsed and all three men were thrown to the ground, sustaining serious injuries in the process.
The accident didn’t hurt anyone else in the house, resident or worker.
Right now, it’s not clear how the three workers are doing, but at least one of them had a head-related injury from the fall. Fortunately, the local fire department was nearby for a training exercise and was able to respond quickly to help out.
