Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN — A worker who was on a construction project had to be sent to the hospital last month (Tuesday, July 14, 2015) after a sidewalk accidentally fell on him. This happened on the Purdue University campus, the news reports confirmed.
The worker’s name wasn’t released, but it appears he was with Huston Electric, a local company.
They had crews working at the corner of Russell and 3rd Street on campus, installing utilities. The sidewalk was being dug up and one worked was in a hole or trench, apparently, when part of the sidewalk gave way and collapsed on him.
He was rushed to a hospital as soon as he was freed, though he wasn’t in any life-threatening condition.
The cause of the accident is unknown and Huston Electric didn’t offer any kind of explanation or statement.
