Mesa, AZ — Two workers had to be hospitalized after a construction accident in Mesa, Arizona, on Tuesday, August 4, 2015. The accident took place at a work site just off the Loop 202 freeway.
Exactly how the accident happened is unclear. Reports say that the two men were working inside a 4-foot trench, and that they were working with a power shovel. Both men suffered crushing injuries. However, the extent of those injuries is unknown.
The names of the two men haven’t been released. Reports say that both of them had been listed in stable condition.
The accident is currently being investigated.

Unfortunately, we know only a little about what happened here. However, whenever an accident like this happens, I find that it’s always a good idea to have any equipment or machinery involved inspected, just to make sure that the equipment itself wasn’t the cause of the accident. Workers’ comp laws will usually keep an employee from filing a claim against their employer. However, if a piece of defective machinery caused an accident to happen, then the injured worker may have a claim against the manufacturer.
