Sometimes, a driver will cause an accident that their insurance policy can’t cover. These usually involve both a passenger vehicle and a commercial truck of some sort. Whenever that happens, it’s always a good idea for the truck driver to see if his employer carries a UIM policy. UIM stands for uninsured motorist. UIM coverage is basically a policy that will step in and cover everything that the other insurance policy wont. Not every employer carries this, but some do. And it can be a big help whenever a lot of damage is done to both a vehicle and its driver.
