Houston, TX — A total of five people had to be rescued from the pickup truck they were riding in last Sunday morning in the downtown area of Houston. Police are saying that the pickup truck may have run a red light and crashed into another car, causing a major accident.
According to the reports released so far, the accident happened near the Southwest Freeway and Hamilton Road.
A red pickup truck was driving in the downtown area when the person behind the wheel failed to stop at a red light. The truck plowed through an unknown intersection and hit another car. The truck then continued down the road and drove into a fence.
Eventually, the truck crashed and flipped onto the driver’s side.
Of the five people in the truck, four were able to be helped out by paramedics and firefighters, but the fifth person had to be extricated with special tools.
So far, none of the injuries appear to be life-threatening. Right now, the police haven’t even addressed what might’ve caused this or why the driver didn’t stop at the red light.
