Fayette County, WV — A semi-truck driver was injured on I-77 in rural Fayette County this past Tuesday after a major accident that involved 3 semi-trucks. Police said that this happened in between Mahan and Massy on I-77, where the interstate curves around quite a bit.
It’s not clear exactly what happened, but it looks like a semi-truck lost control on I-77 and jackknifed, hitting another semi-truck; then a third semi-truck crashed into a concrete barrier in the median.
One of the truck drivers, who possibly worked for Crete Trucking, was rushed to a hospital, but it doesn’t appear that the other two truckers were harmed. The West Virginia State Police said they may investigate some more later. Wet roads might have been a factor here.
