Accidents out on the road are always going to happen, but there are things that drivers can do to make sure they happen less. One of those things is making sure that you leave a safe distance between yourself and the driver ahead of you. At the end of the day, predicting what people are going to do on the road can be very difficult, and you really never know if the person ahead of you is going to slam on their brakes, or try to make a U-turn, or any one of a hundred different things. It sounds like the truck driver involved in this accident was following the victim too closely, and didn’t give himself enough time to slow down once she slowed down. Had he given himself that space, could this accident have been avoided?
