Commentary
Whenever an accident involving a commercial vehicle happens, it’s very easy to blame the driver and be done with it. But there are other things that investigators have to look at. Sometimes, accidents involving commercial vehicles happen because companies become very lazy in making sure that its vehicles receive the proper maintenance. If parts are allowed to fall into disrepair, then accidents can happen quite easily. Another thing to consider is a company’s attitude toward safety on the road. Sometimes that attitude is quite simply bad. Sometimes, drivers aren’t held responsible for traffic infractions, and they get lazy out on the road. Yes, there are a lot of bad drivers out there (good ones, too), and sometimes they’re the ones who need to be held responsible. However, you sometimes have to look a little deeper in trying to determine who’s really responsible for an accident.
