Buffalo, NY — The driver of a pickup truck was critically injured after an accident with an 18-wheeler in Buffalo, New York, on Wednesday, July 22, 2015. The accident took place on Kenmore Avenue, around 8:30 in the morning.
The 53-year-old driver injured in the accident hasn’t been identified. Local sources say the man was driving east in a pickup truck when he lost control and drove into oncoming traffic. He drove up the curb before coming back into the street and hitting the semi-truck.
Emergency workers had to extricate the man from his truck before transporting him to ECMC with critical injuries. The truck driver suffered only minor injuries. His name hasn’t been released.
Local officials are still investigating the accident, but say that speed possibility contributed to the crash.
