Antigo, WI — There was a major accident reported along Highway 45, just north of Antigo, this past Sunday that claimed the life of a Berlin resident. Police said that Victor Rivera, 57, was killed after his pickup truck was in a head-on wreck with an oncoming 18-wheeler truck that afternoon.
The accident in question happened at about 3:00 p.m., near the Kempster community.
Victor Rivera had been driving his truck south along Highway 45 that afternoon and was near the intersection with Knight Road when he was in the head-on wreck with an 18-wheeler headed north on Highway 45. The accident wasn’t explained by the police, but they confirmed that Rivera was killed in the accident.
It appears that one of the drivers here may swerved into oncoming traffic, and the truck told police that Rivera had lost control, but that hasn’t been confirmed yet.
