Anytime you see an accident like this, you’re going to want to look into whether or not the driver who caused the accident was at a bar at some point prior to the crash. Lawmakers in Texas have said that bars aren’t allowed to over-serve customers who are obviously intoxicated. The problem was, bars were serving people who needed to be cut off, those people were going out and getting into accidents, and the bars were moving on with their lives as if nothing had happened. That sort of thing shouldn’t be allowed, so lawmakers stopped allowing it. Now, if a bar is caught doing that, and one of their customers goes out and gets into an accident, the bar can be held liable for it. Unfortunately, bars sometimes need to be reminded that their responsibility to their customers goes beyond their front door.
