Jacksonville, FL — A driver was critically injured following a single-vehicle accident in Jacksonville, Florida, on Monday, July 13, 2015. The accident took place near the intersection of Firestone Road and Prellie Street, around 8:00 at night.
Police say that the driver involved in the accident had been seen driving erratically in the minutes leading up to the accident. The man apparently lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a resident’s fence.
Paramedics extricated the man from his vehicle and he was taken to UF Health. He’s been listed in critical condition.
The accident is currently being investigated.

Folks, I’d be lying if I said that there weren’t plenty of accidents out there just like this one that were caused by driver error. However, they’re not all caused by driver error. The truth is that things like failed brakes or blown tires are perfectly capable of causing accidents like this as well. Until we’re able to get a look at the victim’s vehicle, we won’t know exactly what happened here. Until then, jumping to conclusions is pointless.
