Boise, ID — The head brewer at Edge Brewing Co. in Boise, Idaho, suffered second-degree burns over 30% of her body in an accident that took place on Friday, July 10, 2015.
Kerry Thomas was standing next to a kettle that boiled over after she dumped hops inside batch that was being boiled. Reports say that the batch began to bubble and exploded all over her.
Thomas jumped six feet from the platform she was standing on to the floor below. Co-workers sprayed her down with water and rushed her to the hospital. She’s currently being evaluated by doctors before going into surgery later this week.
No one else was injured in the accident. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help with Mrs. Thomas’ hospital bills. It can be reached here.
