Reports say that this man fell about 40 feet. What kind of safety measures had the construction company taken to make sure this sort of thing didn’t happen? Is it a failure of something that they had in place, or is it a result of something they neglected to do? I read about accidents just like this one all the time, so it’s not like this sort of thing is going to take anyone by surprise. It’s completely ridiculous. Employers need to be making more of an investment in worker safety. Yes, I can see how some might think that certain measures can be excessive, but then we see accidents like this and realize that the need for them is real. Hopefully, this is an area that sees some improvement in the coming years.
