Alleged Drunk Boater Hits and Killed 17-Year Old Girl Wake Boarding on Lake Norman, NC
Keith Owen Cerven www.wistv.comLake Norman, North Carolina — A man named Keith Owen Cerven has been arrested and subsequently charged with driving a boat while intoxicated over the holiday weekend. Police said that Cerven accidentally hit and killed a 17-year old girl on Lake Norman with his boat on Saturday, July 4, 2015.
This happened around 8:00 p.m. on Saturday night, close to Little Acorn Lane off the lake.
Cerven was driving his boat on the lake (allegedly while intoxicated) when he crashed into a 17-year old girl who was wake boarding. It’s not clear if he knew the girl, but she was critically injured and passed away as a result of the collision.
She was from Concord, but her name isn’t being released.
Right now, Cerven is facing additional charges, the police said, which are pending.

I was actually a couple cars back from this wreck, one of the first on the scene, and helped administer CPR on the victims. The truck driver was going way too fast, but it was actually his trailer that swung around and hit the suv, the semi-truck ended in the median.
