WINSTON SALEM, NC — Department of Labor personnel identified Dennis Laney as the worker that died in a construction accident that took place in Winston Salem, North Carolina on Tuesday, July 7th, 2015. Sources reporting out of Boston said that the accident happened sometime Tuesday afternoon.
Currently, authorities think that 65-year-old Dennis Laney was mortally injured at a construction accident that happened at Wake Forest Innovation Center. The specific details of the accident were not released, but media sources said that a cherry picker was involved.
Laney was pronounced dead after the accident. He was a subcontractor for Whiting-Turner at the time of the accident.
Officials from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are currently investigating.
