After any accident, the investigation into what happened is going to play a huge role. The best way to prove a case is with evidence, and the long and short of it is, evidence doesn’t last forever. Witnesses can leave the scene or forget what they saw. Surveillance footage can be reused. Skid marks can be washed away. All this means that evidence needs to be collected as quickly as possible following an accident like this. Its importance really can’t be overstated, nor can its ability to change the way an accident is handled after the fact.
