Vicksburg, MS — A semi-truck out of Monticello, AR was involved in a serious wreck early Monday morning of this week, June 29, 2015 that injured the truck driver. Her name wasn’t given, but the police said that the woman driving the semi was rushed to a hospital after the paramedics responded to the scene.
This happened at about 4:00 a.m. on Monday morning, near Highway 27.
A white semi-truck owned by Drew Foam was headed east on I-20 early Monday morning when it somehow lost control near the Highway 27 overpass and ran off the side of the road.
The trailer of the truck slid down an embankment and the cab of the truck was damaged as well. The woman driving was injured and taken to Merit Health River Region. Her condition isn’t available as of Monday afternoon.
Supposedly, this is being investigated some more.

Commentary:
Before people start making assumptions that this driver is at fault for her own accident, I have some information that might prove useful. As I was researching the Arkansas-based company that owns this truck, I discovered that the DOT has 22 vehicle maintenance violations on their record, yet the company has fewer than 20 trucks in their fleet.
That tells me that at least one of their trucks had multiple violations, which further implies that perhaps this company isn’t too concerned with keeping up their trucks and making sure they’re maintained to FMCSA standards. But the real takeaway here is that I don’t think we ought to rule out a mechanical issue here until there’s been adequate investigation. I would hope that the information I’ve learned here alone is sufficient to at least give the truck driver here the benefit of the doubt until all the facts are in.
She very well may have simply lost control of her truck or fallen asleep at the wheel, but jumping to conclusions never helped anyone in these situations.
