Clewiston, FL — Three teenage girls were involved in a car wreck on Wednesday night of this week, June 24, that left all of them with serious injuries. Regan Roberts, 16, Kendra Johnson, 17, and Megan Whitehead, 17, were all in a Kia Forte that lost control along Hunting Club Avenue and crashed.
This was around 11:30 p.m. that night and Megan Whitehead was the one driving, the FHP reported.
They said that Whitehead was driving her Kia Forte along Hunting Club Avenue and may have been speeding when she lost control near Shetland Street, which is close to where the road dead-ends.
The Kia swerved off the side of the road, over-corrected, then drove into a ditch and flipped over. Both Regan Roberts and Kendra Johnson were rushed to a hospital with critical injuries and Megan Whitehead was treated for serious injuries at a different hospital.
This wasn’t alcohol-related, police said, but was likely speed-related.
