Commentary:
Whenever I see an accident where alcohol was a suspected factor in California, it makes me seriously wonder when state officials are going to get out of their chairs and act to get with the majority of the rest of the nation in passing some laws that hold bars to a higher standard. In one of the most conservative, business friendly states like Texas, there are seriously comprehensive laws governing how alcohol can be safely sold and served in bars, restaurants, and any other businesses that operate with a liquor license. If any of these businesses violate the laws that govern safe service, they can (and should be) held accountable for any accident that happens as a result. California has no such laws, which is beyond frustrating.
