Kansas City, MO — A motorcyclist died after crashing into the side of a police van in Kansas City, Missouri, on Wednesday, June 17, 2015. The accident took place at the intersection of Van Brunt Blvd. and East 31st Street, around 1:30 in the morning.
Police aren’t sure what caused the accident. Dash cam footage shows them moving through the intersection with a green light when the motorcycle, traveling along 31st, came into the intersection and crashed into them so violently that the van spun around.
The man was immediately taken to a nearby hospital and had to undergo emergency surgery for his injuries. He died a short time later. His name hasn’t been released. Police have said only that he is in his 30s.
The accident is currently being investigated.
