Ephrata, PA — There was a wreck reported on Route 322 in southern Ephrata that injured four people this past Thursday, June 18, 2015. Police said that a red car and a Penske truck collided at about 6:45 p.m. at the intersection of Route 322 and Hahnstown Road, which left 3 teens and a 7-year old in the red car injured.
According to their reports, a 17-year old local male was driving the red car along with his 18-year old, 17-year old, and 7-year old passengers.
The details of how the wreck occurred aren’t clear yet, but it looks like the front end of the red car crashed into the passenger side of the Penske box truck. All four people in the red car were hospitalized with serious injuries, but none were in critical condition.
The box truck driver wasn’t harmed. He was later identified as Jeremy Wenrich, 24 years old.

Commentary:
From the looks of things, it seems as if one of the drivers here may have failed to yield to the other. If that’s the case, then the driver at fault will likely be held accountable for whatever went wrong and any injuries sustained. For rental truck drivers (Penske rents trucks to people and owns them for commercial use), that means that their own personal insurance applies, plus whatever extra coverage they may have bought.
