Mountain Home, AR — On Wednesday of this week, a dump truck driver was injured along with two people in a Volvo after an accident along U.S. 62/412. This happened near Hopper’s Dinner Club in far NE Mountain Home. The injured were identified as Mark Pinkston (dump truck driver), Connie Ray (Volvo passenger), and Wayne Ray (Volvo driver).
The accident happened in the afternoon hours, just down the road from the restaurant.
The police said that Pinkston was driving his dump truck full of gravel along U.S. 62 when a dark blue Volvo SUV pulled into his path from a parking lot or side street.
Pinkston told police that he tried to brake, but didn’t have time. His truck crashed into the driver’s side of the SUV and pushed it about 30 feet, tipping over onto it.
Pinkston was injured in the accident along with Connie and Wayne Ray, the occupants in the Volvo. It doesn’t look like any of the injuries were life-threatening, but at least two of these folks were taken to a hospital.
The police didn’t really come to a conclusion on who was at fault, but the news seemed to imply that Pinkston was in the clear.
