Glen St. Mary, FL: 16-Year Old Ashlyn Stafford Hurt after Alleged Drunk Driver Crashes Truck into House
Brian Crawford, 31 www.bakercountypress.comGlen St. Mary, FL — The day after Memorial Day, Tuesday, May 26, a suspected drunk driver crashed his pickup truck in a house along Odis Yarbrough in Glen St. Mary, injuring a teenage girl inside. The accident happened at about 2:30 a.m. that Tuesday morning and the victim was identified as Ashlyn Stafford, 16.The driver who crashed his truck into Stafford’s home was identified as Brian Crawford, 31 years old.The accident happened when Crawford was driving along Odis Yarbrough and he saw an animal in the road. He told police that he swerved to avoid it, but accidentally drove through a yard, a fence, some power cables, and then finally crashed into the side of the Stafford home.
The accident injured only 16-year old Ashlyn inside the house, along with some minor scrapes and scratches to Crawford. Later, the police arrived and arrested Crawford, saying that he was under the influence. He has since been charged and his BAC that night was over 2X the limit at .18%

I'm a former employee. I had brought up this exact scenario and suggested a maintenance procedure that would eliminate the possibility of this type injury. Obviously my warning went unheeded.

I was actually a couple cars back from this wreck, one of the first on the scene, and helped administer CPR on the victims. The truck driver was going way too fast, but it was actually his trailer that swung around and hit the suv, the semi-truck ended in the median.
