Herring, MA — There was a wreck reported along Scenic Highway in Bourndale Village this past Saturday that involved a local ice cream truck crashing into a telephone pole. This happened at about 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, June 13 and the driver was taken to a hospital nearby to be treated for life-threatening injuries.
Police said that a 33-year old Wareham man was driving a Perry’s Last Stand ice cream truck along Scenic Highway Saturday afternoon when he lost control west of Church Lane.
His truck swerved off the side of the road from the westbound lanes and crashed into a utility pole, which did major front-end damage. The Wareham man driving was taken to a hospital via ambulance and was last said to be in critical condition. The cause of the accident has yet to be determined, however.
