Leflore County, OK — A motorcyclist was hospitalized following an accident with another vehicle in Leflore County, Oklahoma, on Friday, June 12, 2015. The accident took place on Highway 271, about three miles west of Pocola.
Police say that Nathan Scott was riding along the highway when he crashed into a vehicle that failed to stop at a stop sign. Scott was ejected about six feet from his bike.
Emergency workers transported Scott to Washington Regional Medical Center. He’s been listed in serious condition. The driver of the vehicle was taken to Sparks Medical Center, treated and released. Their name wasn’t released.
The accident is still being investigated.

It’s possible that there’s something about this accident that’s been missed or just isn’t being reported, but I would imagine that any driver who blows a stop sign is driving recklessly, or just isn’t paying attention. Unfortunately, accidents like this one happen far too often. Whenever they, it’s important that the at-fault driver actually be held accountable for it. Accidents are always going to be a part of our lives, but holding drivers responsible for the accidents they cause is a good way to help make sure they happen less and less in the future.
