Sarasota, FL — A man suffered critical injuries in a single-vehicle accident in Sarasota, Florida, on Friday, June 12, 2015. The accident took place on University Parkway, around 2:45 in the morning.
The man injured in the crash has not been named. Police have identified him only as a 33-year-old man. They say the accident took place when the driver failed to negotiate a curve in the road. He hit the curb and drove onto the shoulder, which caused the vehicle to roll. The driver was ejected out onto the ground.
Emergency workers transported the man to Sarasota Memorial Hospital. At last report, he was listed in critical condition.
The accident is currently being investigated.

I wish we knew a little bit more about what happened here. I’m sure that a lot of people would look at this accident and be quick to write it off as the fault of the driver. While it’s true that several accidents happen as a result of driver inattention, it’s also true that accidents like this one happen through no fault of the driver. Until we know exactly what caused an accident, then rushing to judgement doesn’t really help anyone.
