Commentary:
Does anybody know exactly how this accident happened? Considering it sounded like the incident took place in a parking lot, and parking lots are somewhat notorious for heavy foot traffic, how did the driver of the car not see the victim? Were they paying attention or keeping a watchful eye out? Typically pedestrians have the right-of-way in parking lots, sidewalks, biking or pedestrian lanes, or crosswalks, so from the limited information in the news, I’d say that the driver of the car is going to bear the brunt of the fault, but all this could change with a little clarification from news reports.
