BEXAR COUNTY, TX — One person reported injuries following a semi-truck accident with a passenger car in Bexar County, Texas on Friday, June 12th, 2015. Reports out of the San Antonio area said the accident happened shortly before 8:00 Friday morning.
One person was hurt when the passenger vehicle they were driving hit a tractor-trailer on Highway 90 near Highway 211. Police think that the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel when the vehicle hit the truck from the rear, causing the vehicle to become wedged beneath the trailer of the big rig.
One person was taken to University Hospital where they were reported in critical condition.
The investigation is ongoing at this time.

Commentary:
The news indicated that the victim may have nodded off behind the wheel, but is this something she told officers, or are police just making a guess because there were no signs of braking or similar clues? If there were no skid marks, is it possible that there was a brake failure of some kind? These kind of malfunctions leave evidence behind in the wreckage, and somebody who knows exactly what to look for may be able to look and show that the victim didn’t have control over what happened. Shouldn’t this be something to consider and investigate before we try and point the finger at somebody who may be the victim in this accident?
