North Canton, OH — A green dump truck with a “Ralph Byrd Contracting” logo on it was involved in a wreck with an Isuzu box truck this past Wednesday (June 10, 2015) that left at least two people in the box truck injured.
It happened in North Canton around 3:30 p.m. and it’s not clear what exactly caused the wreck just yet.
The police said it took place at the intersection of Portage and Frank, where the Ralph Byrd truck crashed into the driver’s side of the box truck, doing major damage to both vehicles. One of the drivers may have failed to yield at the light, but that part is still being investigated.
Police think that one of the people in the box truck had a leg-related injury. No names were released.

Commentary:
Even though commercial trucks operate on a different level than other cars on the road, the drivers still have all the same rights as the rest of us. When someone causes an accident, the negligent party can still be held responsible for the injuries or death they’ve caused — even if the people involved are “on the clock” as commercial drivers.
