Waynesboro, IN — A local woman was arrested for many different offenses, one of them being DUI, after a car wreck on Saturday injured another Waynesboro woman. Police said that Barbara Shoop. 50, was badly injured after her Harley-Davidson motorcycle was hit by 26-year old Erica Yeakle’s truck on Anthony Highway/997.
This was around 5:30 p.m. in the evening on Saturday, June 6, 2015.
Police said that Yeakle’s Chevy pickup truck was headed south on the highway that evening when she crashed into Shoop’s motorcycle, then fled the scene. She was later witnessed getting things out of the truck at a different location and the police were alerted.
She was then apprehended and accused of being under the influence of alcohol. Later, her BAC allegedly tested at a .087%, slightly over the limit for intoxication. She has since been charged with hit-and-run, DUI, and other offenses.
