Amherst, OH — There was a wreck along Route 58 in Amherst that claimed the life of a driver this past Monday morning and left two people in his car with serious injuries. This happened at about 1:00 a.m. on Monday, June 1, 2015 and the injured victims were identified as Tiffany Woods, 19, and Drew Murphy, 22.
Both Woods and Murphy were passengers in a Ford Focus driven by 24-year old Nicholas Zaenglein, police confirmed.
Zaenglein was driving his Ford along Route 58 when officers reportedly saw him run a red light at Ridge Road. As they tried to stop Zaenglein, the officers claimed that Zaenglein sped up and drove to Cooper Foster Park Road, where he lost control and crashed into a utility pole.
The accident killed Nicholas Zaenglein and left his two passengers, Tiffany Woods and Drew Murphy, with serious injuries.
Afterwards, police said they had reason to suspect alcohol was a factor in the accident, though they haven’t posted any updates since Monday, it appears.
